About the Program :

In today’s multilingual world, the diploma course in French language is designed to develop life skills and broaden horizons, allowing students to grow both individually and professionally. The program is dedicated to the French language, with a special focus on French culture and history. Through the comprehensive mode of education, students will have ample opportunities to practice oral and written language skills as well as a diverse array of vocabulary.


Program Outcomes:

  1. To be able to interact orally in an effective manner in past, present, and future time frames on a beginner level with supporting details in French.
  2. Familiarize students with the scope and importance of the French language.
  3. Enable students to learn about French grammar skills and to make good vocabulary with the help of phonetics.
  4. Study the various aspects, concepts, and ideas used in everyday life, such as weather conditions, time, expressions of interests and disinterests, introductions, personality descriptions, directions, schedules, etc.





Course Structure:


1 The origins and importance of the language – a brief overview.
2 Alphabets, Phonetics and Pronunciation.
3 Common Vocabulary; Short Informal Salutations.
4 Basic Grammatical Sentence Structures; Basic Usage of Words and Sentences.
5 Nouns, Gender, Number.

1 Recognizing familiar words and basic French phrases (in slow and clear speech): about oneself, about family and activities, about personal likes and dislikes, about immediate environment or surroundings.
2 Using simple phrases and sentences (for day to day speech): describing where one lives, describing people one knows, speaking about general conditions of living, giving personal opinions.

1 Reading familiar words (or mimicking the audio as French pronunciation differs from the written alphabets): names, simple sentences, posters, books, catalogues, notices.
2 Writing short informal notes, greetings, messages ; filling application forms with personal details, for example when travelling, booking hotel rooms or making reservations; filling hotel registration forms, university applications, passport forms, etc.
3 Formal letter drafting in French (in workplace situations).
