Learning Outcomes:
After the completion of this course, students will be able to:
Gain proficiency in French alphabets, articles, verb conjugations, negations, and
interrogations.
Develop the ability to conduct basic greetings, introduce oneself, and engage in everyday and
formal conversations.
Gain insights into French culture, history, including the French Revolution, and
socio-cultural
practices.
Learn essential French vocabulary related to days, numbers, colors, professions, and everyday
objects.
Apply French in real-life contexts, including business communication, asking directions, and
shopping.

Unit I: Introduction to the Language The French and the Francophone: The Country and the
Francophones, Grammar – The Alphabets, Definite Articles, Indefinite Articles, Days of the Week,
Tour of Numbers – 1 – 50, Basic Greetings and Introduce Yourself; Glimpse of the Culture: France –
A Country of Gourmands, Art, Literature and Fashion, Grammar - Subject Pronouns, ER Regular
Verbs, The Prepositions, Months of the Year, Tour of Numbers – 51 -100, Basic Greetings - The
Religious and Socio-Cultural Festivals.
Unit II – Let’s know the History French Revolution: French Revolution and Symbols of France,
Grammar – IR Regular Verbs, Verbs – Avoir, Être, Venir, Aller, The Negation, The Fruits, The
Vegetables, The Colours, Basic Conversation - French Words and Phrases; Let's Travel the Places:

Unit 3: Business Communication Entrance to the Formal World: Formal Talk on the table,
